The Stars of Eger 12
1552, the siege of Eger. Two thousand soldiers were pitched against an army of forty thousand – and Eger stood, because "the strength of the wall lies not within the rock, but in the soul of its defenders". The play is a special adaptation of Gárdonyi's highly acclaimed novel. Here, the story of Gergely Bornemissza, István Dobó and the others is narrated by the children living in the fort during the siege.
