Three Sisters 14
Time is one of the main actors in Chekhov’s enigmatic drama, for the characters seem to be living in three different periods of their lives simultaneously. They are actively reliving their childhoods, mirroring the present, and investing hope in the future...
Three Sisters was presented at Poland’s Kalisz International Festival in 2006, and Magdolna Vass won the Award for Best Actress, Zsolt Trill received the Award for Best Actor, and Nelli Szűcs took the Special Award. In 2009, Attila Vidnyánszky received the Meyerhold Award in Moscow for directing the plays The Boy Changed into a Stag, Funeral Pomp, and Three Sisters. Earlier winners of this prestigious award for renewing theatrical language include renowned European directors like Krzysztov Warlikowsky, Matthias Langhoff and Krystian Lupa.
