Shadowlands

Two worlds, the meeting of two unusual people, two artists, their love, their tragedy. C. S. Lewis was a professor at Cambridge and the author of children’s stories, fantastic novels, and works on literary history and theology. Joy Davidman was an American poet, a communist, a converted Christian, and a divorcee. We learn of their feelings and thoughts, their inner struggles and doubts. The relationship between these two unusual people grows before it is cut tragically short by her death, and we bear witness to its flowering, from friendship to deep trust and understanding. Their story is testimony, told with sarcasm and humor, to the sincerity and love of these two brilliant and passionate people.
