One-act comedies
In The Bear, Nelli Szűcs plays the part of the closeted-up young widow with charm and delicacy. Like an offended Amazon, she “brings down” the “bear.” Zsolt Trill in the part of the footman is a wise clown next to József Varga in the part of the “bear.” Trill’s performance of the monologue On the Harmful Effects of Tobacco is the art of the theatre at its finest. In A Marriage Proposal, Andrea Kacsur plays the part of an ugly old maid who desperately needs to be married off. The mincing, polite daughter of the house becomes a sharp-tongued witch, a sobbing machine. László Tóth and Zsolt Trill are brilliant in the roles of the suitor and the father.
