Oedipus

A father is foretold: he will die at his son’s hands. A boy is foretold: one day he will be the murderer of his own father, and will bed his mother. The father throws out the baby to rid himself of it. The boy leaves the guardian he has believed to be his father, in order to face his destiny. At the crossing of three ways, they happen upon one another, and the boy murders his father.

The boy will become a husband and a father, in order to fulfil all of the prophecies in turn.
