Dancing at Lughnasa
Why do five women living in Ireland in the 1930s, a place grappling with the exodus of young people to the USA, burst into dance? The story is told by Michael Mundy, a young boy who lives with his mother and four aunts in a house where the radio is always on. What would cause such a burst of joy, only to plunge them soon into despair? And why is this a pagan dance?
