The "Broken Melody" is a play about memory and the power of music to outlive its creator. This chamber performance is dedicated to the life and work of the Tatar composer Färit Yarullin, author of the first Tatar ballet, "Shurale." It immerses the audience in the atmosphere of pre-war Kazan, a time when the national musical culture was taking shape.

The story focuses on the composer’s fate, who went missing during the Great Patriotic War, and on his music, which continues to live on today. The narrative unfolds through the Yarullin family. His parents, who once inspired their son with tales of horsemen and beautiful maidens, remain behind, still living, remembering, and waiting. Meanwhile, the composer himself appears as a presence from another dimension, observing them and trying to reconnect with what once mattered most to him.
Special attention is given to the way family stories and Tatar fairy tales become fertile ground for nurturing talent and creativity.
