THE ROOSTER STEW MITEM 12

A couple about to get married decide to “play out” the marriage that lies ahead of them. Before long, the boundary between reality and imagination begins to blur. Two people who seem to be opposites in almost every aspect, explore the viability of institutional marriage through archetypal situations of male-female relationships: love and freedom, commitment and escape, desire and fear, humour and pain. By recalling the past, confronting their fears and desires, and facing all that they do not dare to say out loud, they search for answers. Will love be enough to overcome differences in character, culture, and nationality, as well as the pressure exerted by their surroundings?

The performance is a Croatian-Hungarian co-production, featuring actors from both countries.

The production was realized with the support of a grant provided by the Central State Office for Croats Abroad, operating under the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

Co-production partner: Croatian Minority Self-Government of Óbuda–Békásmegyer.
