No Man’s Land depicts the absurdity of the Balkan peoples and the irrational dynamics that shape their relationships both in peace and in war. On this cursed land, fratricide becomes a tragic and inevitable reality, where human actions – deeply bound to one another – often embody both love and hatred at the same time. The war, portrayed as a black comedy, becomes a metaphor for the permanent state of “war and hatred,” reflecting not only the relationships between these peoples but also their hostility towards their neighboring “brother nations.”

This relentless cycle of conflict – fueled by shared history and geographical proximity – points to a greater existential crisis: it reveals a profound spiritual and moral fracture that goes far beyond mere territorial disputes.
