Itay Tiran
Itay Tiran (born March 23, 1980, Petah Tikva, Israel) is an internationally acclaimed Israeli actor and director, recognized for his work in leading European and Israeli theaters as well as in film and television. He studied classical piano in his youth before graduating from the Beit Zvi School of Performing Arts. Tiran rose to prominence at the Cameri Theatre in Tel Aviv with major Shakespearean roles including Hamlet and Richard III, earning multiple Israeli Theater Awards. He has appeared in acclaimed films such as Beaufort, The Debt, Lebanon, and the international production Demon.
In recent years he has worked extensively in Europe, joining the ensembles of Schauspiel Stuttgart and later the Burgtheater in Vienna. At Gesher Theatre he directed Shakespeare’s Richard III (2023) and Roy Chen’s Souls (2025), both drawing significant critical and international attention. Known for his intensity and intellectual precision, Tiran continues to bridge Israeli and European theater cultures.
